Just Add Ice Orchid Care Tips

Did your valentine make you the proud plant parent of a Just Add Ice orchid? One of the reasons people enjoy Just Add Ice orchids as a gift is because they are low-maintenance and you don't have to be a green thumb to help them thrive.

Still, if orchid care is new to you, we've prepared some tips for successful blooms again and again. You've got this!

4 orchid care tips

Some people shy away from orchids because they appear fragile, but mostly they're just misunderstood. Just because an orchid isn't blooming, it doesn't mean it's dead! Here are some quick care tips to keep your orchid happy and healthy.

Don't overwater

The No. 1 mistake most people make with orchids is overwatering. We solve this problem by using a unique watering method. As the name implies, you water these orchids by adding 3 ice cubes to the orchid pot each week. As the ice cubes slowly melt, they provide the exact amount of water your orchid needs.

If you just received your first Just Add Ice orchid, you may want to sign up for weekly watering reminders. Simply choose your preferred watering day and you will receive a weekly email or text message reminder.

Find perfect lighting

Your orchid will thrive in a home and office environment with the right light. Make sure you put it somewhere with bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight will cause sunburn.

Provide comfortable temperatures

Just Add Ice orchids enjoy the same indoor temperatures you do. If you're comfortable, so is your orchid! Daytime temps between 65 and 80 degrees and nighttime temps between 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit are ideal.

Add humidity

Orchids are tropical plants, and as such, they enjoy humidity. Yours will thrive when the humidity is between 55% and 75%. If your air is dry, run a humidifier in the same room to help add some moisture in the air.
