Some "Nice" Orchid Stories to Share!

Each week we have been posting a new "nice" topic for an extra chance for our loyal fans to win 2 free phalaenopsis orchids and the response has been overwhelming! We love hearing all the gracious and inspirational stories and in the holiday spirit, want to share a few!

This week's topic was "Cut flowers are nice, but Just Add Ice Orchids make the perfect gift! Have you given a Just Add Ice Orchid or received one as a gift? What was the reason? A birthday, a thank you, a holiday, or just because?"

"I love orchids because they last much longer than cut flowers. (Or most living flowers, for that matter.) My husband always brings one home for my birthday and Mother's day. Last year our little girl decorated the pot with Valentine's stickers. It looks crazy, but I love it. I managed to get it to grow a new flower shoot this winter, too! I can't wait to see the flowers again. "

"After having double-knee replacements in September, I was given my first orchid by a dear friend. My physical therapist loved it so much, I gave her one upon completion of my therapy. Then, a good friend had a knee replacement soon after that, and we gave her one, also. They are beautiful !...Mine is just losing its blooms for the first time! ..I can't wait for new blooms again ! I love the "ice-cube waterings"....Thanks for the great reminders!"

"I received my first orchid a few weeks ago. I was at home with a nasty cold and was in a cranky mood. When my husband came back from the store he had with a beautiful orchid and some chocolates for me. He knew I had been eying the orchids at the store for a long time and thought they would make a better gift than cut flowers. It was such a sweet surprise! Needless to even though I was sick I did feel a lot better."

"I guess I could say yes to both, I bought one and gave it to my self. I have always heard how hard they were to care for and how expensive. I found one on clearance, thought what could it hurt. Everyone was wrong! I water all my plants weekly so it fits right into my schedule and it is so easy to care for. My little splurge paid off once it bloomed. Most beautiful flowers ever. I took pictures and sent them to everyone I know. If I ever get or give another gift, It would be a just add ice orchid. I would love to have lots more!"
