Winter Decor Trends

January 25, 2022

Just because the holidays are over and the weather outside is cold and drab, it doesn’t mean your home can’t be vibrant, warm and inviting. After all, Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Consider changing up the appearance of some of your living spaces, keeping these current winter decor trends in mind.

4 winter decor trends to try

Here are four of our favorite decor trends of the season.

Gold

Gold tends to play a big role in holiday decor, but consider keeping splashes of it around all season long. Using gold in your decor lends itself to an Art Deco vibe and takes any room from boring to decorative. Incorporate chairs with gold metal finishes, golden lamps or blankets and pillows with golden hues.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper is big right now, and it comes in so many fun colors and patterns. Consider using peel-and-stick wallpaper as an accent on a wall in an otherwise stark room. It’s a fun, easy way to add personality, charm and something to talk about when guests arrive.

Florals

You may not have thought about using floral patterns in winter decor, but we’re here to tell you it’s time to think again. When matched with textures considered more wintry (think flannel, fleece, linen or mohair), they add romance and color to the mix. Just don’t overdo it. Start small with a throw pillow or ottoman, and work in more from there if you wish.

Plants

Are plants ever really “out”? We don’t think so. Just like the winter of 2020 when people started collecting houseplants during the pandemic, they’re back for a third winter in a row. And for good reason! They add a touch of nature to your home while winter does its thing outside. They also promote feelings of happiness and healthiness, as well as purify the air in your home.

Ready to add more green to your scene? Shop plants now to find a plant that matches your decor or look for one that will shake up your look.
