Halloween Orchids: A Unique Way to Decorate

October 19, 2023

With Halloween just around the corner, you might be wondering how to make your orchids fit in with your fall decor. A love of Halloween and a love of orchids don’t have to be mutually exclusive!

Halloween orchids can be the perfect accent to your existing fall décor (or any other holiday or season). All you need is a little creativity!

3 ways to add orchids to your Halloween décor

Whether you’re looking to add a bit more spookiness or create a cozy autumn vibe, Halloween orchids are a unique way to dress up this holiday in class! Here are some ideas to get you started:

1. Choose a festive color

Trick Or Treat Orange Orchids

Orchids come in a variety of colors, but orange is the best all-around candidate for adding whimsy to your Halloween party atmosphere or an elegant but festive vibe to your fall household décor. Yellow orchids also work nicely as they are reminiscent of fall, fire and candles, all things we associate with Halloween!

Pleasantly surprise all of your tricker-or-treaters this Halloween with a pumpkin that’s slightly unexpected. Instead of a pumpkin with a spooky jack-o-lantern face, why show your orchid love by carving one into your pumpkin?

3. Add a fake spider, cobwebs or gravestones.

We normally advise against allowing pests to crawl all over your orchids, but we’ll make an exception for Halloween as long as these pests are fake! Do you have spooky décor for Halloween? Adorn your orchids with plastic spiders and cotton spider webs. You can also make gravestones out of cardboard, glue them to a toothpick and stick them in your orchid's pot.

These are just a few of our ideas, but we encourage all of the orchid lovers out there to be creative. Take our ideas and add a few of your own! Not only will you have a blast decorating, but you’ll likely have some of the most unique Halloween decorations on your block. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
